Dr. Dan Benardot PhD, RD, FACSM
 
Dan Benardot is a tenured professor with appointments in the Department of Nutrition and the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Georgia State University (GSU). As co-director of the Laboratory for Elite Athlete Performance at GSU he is involved in helping athletes develop training plans that assist them in their pursuit of athletic excellence. He received his doctorate (Ph.D.) in human nutrition and health planning from Cornell University in 1980; received a Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, (DHC) in 2002 from Marywood University for his work in the area of sports nutrition; is a Registered Dietitian; and is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. His research focus on within-day energy balance and related issues has been funded by the United States Olympic Committee, the Gatorade Sports Science Institute, the Georgia Research Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, with his findings published in highly regarded professional journals. He is the author of 'Nutrition for Serious Athletes' (Human Kinetics © 2000, 336 pgs); and 'Advanced Sports Nutrition' (Human Kinetics © 2006, 341 pgs); and was editor-in-chief of 'Sports Nutrition 2nd edition' (American Dietetic Association © 1993, 335 pgs). He is co-author of 'The ACSM Fitness Book 3rd Edition' (Human Kinetics © 2003, 175 pgs), and is co-author of the American and Canadian Dietetic Association position paper on 'Physical Fitness and Athletic Performance for Adults' (1993). He was the first American appointed to the Medical Commission of the international governing body for gymnastics (Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique), is an officer/member of the Sports Medicine Society for United States Figure Skating, and was a founding member of the Athlete Wellness Committee for USA Gymnastics. Dr. Benardot was in charge of the nutritional health of the gold-medal winning United States Gymnastics Team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, and was the nutritionist for the medal-winning USA marathoners at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. He serves as Scientific Advisor to Calorie & Pulse Technologies, LLC, the creator of SportsNutritionClinic.com.
 
Alfred Martin MD, MBA
 
Alfred Martin is the CEO of SportsNutritionClinic.com, and comes to the company after many years of success in the medical field. Alfred received his Bachelors from Georgia Tech, his MD from the Medical College of Georgia, and his MBA from Harvard.
 
Jake Benardot MBA
 
Jake is the VP of Marketing & Technology for SportsNutritionClinic.com. Before coming to SNC, he was a Systems Engineer and Development Lead for a Fortune 100 company. Jake received his BBA and MBA from the University of Georgia. During the few hours each day when he's not working, you can usually find Jake either training for or racing in triathlons. And yes, he's the son of Dr. Benardot.
